About the Doctors

Dr. Douglas McCall

He is a graduate of Furman University and University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard.

At the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, he has taught in the dental school for 20 years and in graduate schools for over 10 years. He currently teaches hospital dentistry.

He served as President of the Louisville Dental Society and the Kentucky Dental Association. He also served as Vice-President of ADA Insurance Council. He is a member of East End Dental Study Club. He is President of Louisville Oral Medicine Study Club. He has used dental lasers since 1993.

He has Invisalign® Certification Level II and Straight Wire orthodontics. He has used growth appliances for developing beautiful faces in children for over 20 years.

He enjoys a good game of golf and being with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Dr. Stephen Topor

He is a graduate of The University of Notre Dame (undergraduate) and The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

After dental school, he served three years in the Indian Health Service, U.S. Public Health Service. he received additional training in all phases of general dentistry at the IHS Hospital in Gallup, New Mexico, earning an Advanced General Practice Residency certificate while treating Navaho, Itopi and Pueblo Indians. The next two years were spent treating the Cherokees near Great Smoky Mountain National Park in North Carolina.

After his stint in Cherokee, North Carolina, he and his family relocated to Louisville, joining the practice of his parent's dentist, Dr. Doug McCall. Since then he has been practicing part-time and teaching at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. His teaching responsibilities are currently in Preclinical Fixed Prosthodontics (crown & bridge), Preclinical Temporomandibular Dysfunction (facial & jaw pain), and supervision of the Undergraduate Student Clinics.

Dr. Topor enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dr. Nathan Thompson

After graduating from the University of Kentucky, Dr. Thompson returned to his hometown to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Upon completion of his dental education, he completed a one year General Practice Residency program at University Hospital here in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Thompson has been practicing dentistry for 10 years and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He is Invisalign and Straight Wire Orthodontic Certified. He is training in restoring implants with dentures and crowns.

He is a member of the American Dental Association and Louisville Dental Society.

When not practicing dentistry, he enjoys family time with his wife, daughter and twin sons. He also enjoys fishing, running and the great American outdoors.
